Stef Shock

Stef Shock artwork

Stef Shock’s history in art started at a young age and her training has been a constant throughout her life. She started sculpting at the age of 14 and has worked in multiple mediums; wire, paper, fabric, foam and clay. Her Torn Series brings together her dual practices of painting and sculpture, merging surface and form through layered fiber compositions.

Muted tones, torn fabric and layered canvas come together to form landscapes that feel both ancient and new—echoes of geography and memory. Rather than controlling the materials, she enters into conversation with them. The fabric leads; she follows, responding to each fold and edge with quiet intuition. Her process mirrors the rhythms of the natural world—cyclical, responsive, and unpredictable. Each piece is a subtle act of transformation—a reminder that even the humblest fabric can mirror back the lines found only in nature.
